Lockdown Vintage Market Next online October 16th, 2020

Following the success of our online lockdown virtual Portobello we will keep on running the market every Friday from 11am. 

Our first ever online market was a huge success last week, racking up over 100,000 views on Instgram. During lockdown we will be holding our weekly Friday vintage market online. Visit our Virtual Vintage Market on Instagram Stories @portobeĺlogreenmarket

Please help us support all of our fabulous vintage traders, for many this is their main means of income. Shop on-trend vintage, period vintage, vintage clothing and accessories from 1920-1990’s, high-end designer vintage and more.

How does it work?

For Visitors:
1. From 11am GMT on every Friday, click on our Instagram Stories @portobellogreenmarket (big circle with our profile image, top left on your screen).
2. Items for sale by vintage traders will be shared here until 3pm. They’ll continue to be ‘live’ to view for 24 hrs after the fair starts.
3. If you see something you like, contact the Trader directly to buy, or to ask a question. Or buy via their website or selling platform, if they have one. Find their link in their bio.
4. Click through to the Trader’s profile to find more items they may have on offer. Please don’t forget to follow them.
5. The total number of stories we can have online at any time is 100, so those at the beginning will automatically start to be deleted once this number is reached. So take a screenshot if something catches your eye, in case the story disappears.
6. New items for sale will be posted during the day so keep checking for new items.
7. Laise with the trader regarding delivery. Postal services may be slower during this time.
8. Follow @portobellogreenmarket on Instagram to keep informed and to share news of what you’ve bought!

For Vintage Traders:
Get your items ready!!
1. Apply to take part by sending a DM on Instagram. £10 charge.

2.Go to Instagram every Friday between 11-3pm GMT. We are possibly asking for small fee to take part to help support the market. TBC.
3. In your own Stories, post a Story of at least one item with its price and add our tag (by writing) @portobellogreenmarket on the story post. You can post up to 3 Stories.
4. Take a photos of your products for sale. Make your stories as wonderful as the displays on your stalls! Encourage to people to visit your IG page to discover more or add your website address to the story. We’ll share to @portobellogreenmarket Stories at some point between 10:45am-3pm.
6. Visitors will join from 11am to start browsing & shopping.
7. Original vintage items only please.

The best way to sell

1. Single items in photos sell well. Show the garment from different angles/up close.
2. Include sizes and price
3. Prompt people to DM you to buy
4. Write our tag on the story @portobellgreenmarket
5. Like when you write a post add one or two popular hashtags to your story to help it get found. For example, #vintageforsale #70sdress #vintagestyle You can shrink the text to make these really small.
6. Use still images only, videos do not allow us to share.
7. Share our post to promote the online market with your followers.
